WHO Recommending Lower Action Levels

The World Health Organization (WHO) lowered their recommended action level for radon.  They are recommending action to be taken at 100 Becquerel per cubic meter (Bq/m3) which is the equivalent to 2.7 pCi/L.  Go to www.aarst.org for more information.

Become a Rad Elec “Certified E-PERM^® User”

      Rad Elec Inc. has initiated a new Manufacturer’s Certification Program – it’s easy – download the application form from our website at www.radelec.com after you meet these requirements:

Ø  Take the E-PERM^® Proficiency Course (Booklet and DVD came with your Starter

      Kit). Pass the online test which is administered by CERTI

Ø  Make sure you have had your Reader and Reference Electrets calibrated and certified within the last yearØ  Make sure your Spiking requirement is up to date (3 per 100 measurements with a minimum of 3 per year)

Ø  Verify that you have a QA/QC-SOP Program on file at your office

Ø  Verify that you are using software supplied by Rad Elec to calculate your results

Ø  Verify that you are using electrets manufactured and processed only by Rad Elec Inc. 

After we review your application, we will post your name on our website as one of our Certified E-PERM^® Users and issue you a Certificate.

Rad Elec now offers 6x9 Tyvek® Bags for deploying E-PERMS®.  You can seal the S or

L chamber with the electret in the bag and then hang the bag from the ceiling or door. 

The bag also keeps dust particles out but allows the radon in.  They are preprinted with

“Radon Test in Progress – Do Not Disturb”.  An optional Deployment Sheet can also be

placed on the back of the bag.
