Short-Term Electrets are the most sensitive type of electret that Rad Elec offers, and are usually the most suitable electret to deploy for short-term radon tests lasting less than three months. They are shipped with 700+ volts to ensure numerous deployments, and can be readily analyzed at your home office or laboratory.
The short-term electret contains a charged disk that serves as both the source for ion collection and as the integrating ion sensor. Negative ions produced inside an attached chamber (sold separately) are collected on the positively charged electret, causing a reduction of its surface charge.
Short-term electrets are the most sensitive class of electret that Rad Elec offers, and are most applicable for short-term radon tests lasting less than three months.
